Secure Closure Starts With Access
Building on the standard percutaneous technique, the Arstasisone and Arstaotomy procedure is user-friendly, yet sophisticated.
With minimal additional procedure time a check valve is created and
the guidewire is placed. Once this is accomplished, an introducer sheath is inserted over the guidewire and the standard procedure
commences. This “check valve” approach takes advantage of the natural arterial structure.
Upon extraction of the procedural sheath (Figure 1), hemostasis occurs as the check valve is forced closed by the
pressure in the artery assisted by limited manual compression. There is no need to deploy a foreign body such as a polymer, suture or
staple (Figure 2).
Due to the overlap in tissue, this “Arstaotomy” is designed to reduce the likelihood of late bleeding. The Arstasisone and
Arstaotomy procedure are intended to provide significant benefit to hospitals by safeguarding their resources.
The resulting hemostasis is intended to remain secure, obviating the need for closure devices.
